Getting to the Hotel

Airport Information
All major international and domestic flights fly into San Francisco International Airport. Alternatively, you can flight into Oakland International Airport

Ground Transportation Information
The taxi cost for transportation to the hotel from SFO is $45-60.  You can easily grab a taxi from the airport. The drive from the airport to the hotel is approx. 30 minutes.

The Airport Express and American Airporter Shuttle are shared mini-buses that provide service SFO to the InterContinental.  Travel time will vary depending on the number of passengers on your mini-bus, and costs $17 each way.   

Public Transit to the InterContinental Hotel
BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) operates rapid rail service directly between SFO and downtown San Francisco as well as Oakland Airport and downtown San Francisco. Both trips takes around 30 minutes and costs $8.25 one way to SFO and $4.10 one way to Oakland.  Visit the BART website for detailed information.

  • What is the purpose of this event?

    This is a networking event for Advertisers and Publishers in the Rakuten Marketing Network where meetings take place related to driving sales for Advertisers and driving commissions for Publishers. It is also an opportunity to learn about the Rakuten Marketing Network and about the industry in general.

  • What does my registration fee include?

    The registration fee includes an attendee welcome kit, access to the welcome reception on Wednesday, January 28 and full day access on Thursday, January 29 including the keynote sessions, DealMaker, meals and extensive networking opportunities at the conference.  sessions entry into any gift prize drawings, and extensive networking with partners and peers during the networking reception.

    Please note attendance at Advertiser University on Wednesday, January 28 and the After Party on Thursday, January 29 are not included in the registration fee. Tickets can be added onto your registration and purchased during the online registration process. 

  • Why am I having trouble registering online?

    Admission is limited to Rakuten Marketing clients, partners and invited guests. To confirm your invitation status, we ask that you verify your name and e-mail. Sometimes, however, our records are not up-to-date and we may not have your current information on record. If you have received an invitation and are currently experiencing difficulty registering, please contact events@mail.rakuten.com so we may update your information into our system.

  • How can I invite my colleague or partner to Rakuten Marketing Symposium San Francisco?

    If you think there is an executive in your company or a valued partner who would benefit from attending the event, please send their name and contact information to events@mail.rakuten.com.

  • What is the registration cancellation policy?

    Cancellations for all Symposium San Francisco events must be submitted in writing by Friday, January 16. Refunds are not available after that date.  No-shows are subject to the full registration payment. Name substitutions will be allowed without penalty. All cancellation or name change requests must be submitted via email to events@mail.rakuten.com.

  • What is DealMaker?

    DealMaker is a session on Thursday, January 29 from 3pm - 6pm where attendees have the opportunity to network with Advertisers and Publishers who have purchased a DealMaker sponsorship. Sponsors display their collateral and giveaways at their table. It is a great way for sponsors to gain exposure at the event and for attendees to have meaningful conversations with potential partners.   • How do I obtain a press pass?

  • What is the conference dress code?

    Dress for Symposium San Francisco is business casual.

  • What is Pathable?

    Pathable is an online community open exclusively to Symposium San Francisco attendees to network with fellow attendees prior to the event. We will be launching the Pathable community at the end of November. All registered attendees will receive an invitation to join the community directly from Pathable.
