Junior Instructional Designer

Reporting to the Director, Education and Training, the Junior Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, creating, and managing the development of high-quality and cross-functional (Affiliate, Display, Search and other Digital Marketing) learning programs for internal employees including instructor-led training, e-learning and mobile learning as determined by key stakeholders across the business.  

The Junior Instructional Designer will work closely with the Education & HR teams, as well as project managers and SMEs to ensure that all of our content meets training requirements and achieves business goals.   

The ideal candidate should not only work well in a collaborative setting, but also be confident enough to take full ownership of the learning content and work well independently. In addition, this person should be able to creatively translate learning needs into engaging and entertaining formats.   

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and SMEs to create original content and identify knowledge/performance gaps through meeting facilitation, expectations setting, and on-going project correspondence
  • Interpret training feedback and learning needs analysis and evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs to make future recommendations accordingly
  • Recommend, design and develop creative learning solutions that include, but are not limited to, classroom training, eLearning and blended learning solutions
  • Record and edit internal training tutorials Create knowledge checks and exams
  • Write and edit storyboards, interactive scripts, and other learning documentation as needed
  • Ensure training material is content is clear, accurate, consistent, and free of spelling and grammatical errors         ·        
  • Easily manage multiple projects to achieve project goals and meet deadlines
  • Stay abreast of current trends and innovation
  • Experience:
    Bachelors Degree required
  • Prior experience in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Performance Consulting or similar area of study
  • Work with a collaborative mindset as well as think creatively and independently
  • Quick learner with the ability to work with minimal supervision in fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communications and customer service skills
    Good understanding of basic project management processes.
  • Ability to think strategically/creatively and juggle multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment with the flexibility & adaptability to change priorities as needed.
  • Strong aesthetic, design composition and typographic abilities to create an engaging & compelling content
  • Must be able to create products with extremely high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be able to interact with team members and stakeholders in a problem-solving, constructive manner. 
  • High comfort level with technology and ability to quickly learn and utilize new software applications
  • Ability to effectively organize work, prioritize and manage time in a dynamic, fast-paced environment  

Required Skills:

  • Full understanding and experience with an array of authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, etc.)
  • Experience working with SCORM and learning management systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office products
  • Working knowledge of Javascript and CSS
